They don't want their own fora flooded with stuff that creates a bad impression, especially when they're in a period of fostering anticipation over their new title and hoping to attract lots of fresh interest. It's kinda naive to think that they run the forums as a noble contribution to free speech or some such tbh. Community Management is just another arm of the Marketing Dept.

No, thiefessa. I deliberately used no profanities, foul language, or any kind of obscenities. Except for the word, 'arse' in one post. I expressed my serious disappointment that EM would not be using Stephen Russell, and I expressed my serious disillusionment in all the changes they'd made to our once beloved Thief-world. I suggested that with all the changes they've made, perhaps they would have been better off NOT calling the game 'Thief', or the main protagonist 'Garrett'. My closing words were, 'Epic fail, EM'. EM has deleted far too many posts on that YouTube site, which leads the rest of us to believe that they're being heavy-handed, but realize that if they delete all the negative posts, they'll be left with only a handful of posts whatsoever.

You'd think more people would come over here after seeing EM delete just about anything that they decide is negative. You can hardly call that "discussion." I wonder if I started promoting the TTLG boards over there if they'd delete those posts too.

Dia, its odd that you got banned for saying just that because there are lots of other posts like yours that still remain. I'm looking at them right now.
Did you use the same username? If you've been unfairly banned, it can be looked into, if you like? No problems.

Don't the Eidos boards have some sort of PM or email system for resolving Eidos fora squabbles? If not, you should get one - 'cos TTLG will get mighty messy if it keeps getting used for arbitration everytime someone thinks they've been banned unfairly.

Deleting profanity, hate speech, obscenity, spam, slander etc etc is not censorship. Even if you wish to argue that deletion/bans are still "some form of" censorship... it isn't the type of censorship you describe.
I'm in agreement with this, and this is not what I was referring to (but you already know that)...Constructive forum management is definitely needed.

Attempting to keep debate sensible, mature and on-topic is not something uncouth or something only tyrants employ.
Again, not what I was talking about...It is an uncouth practice to regularly delete posts that
are on-topic and reasonable, simply because the opinion expressed is not desirable to the vested interests of a particular entity...Many have witnessed Eidos do this time and time, again.
For example, there was a recent youtube post by someone who simply stated "Stephen Russell is Garrett. Period"...That's it...It had 60+ likes, and summarily removed.
Your continued distortions and twists, only make your motivations that more obvious.

You know, I'm not sure volunteering to be part of the admin team at the Eidos community fora is an especially nefarious/sinister thing for a gaming fan to do.

Uh, yeah. I'd say that kind of post would be deleted fairly quickly.

Same username. But it doesn't even matter. I honestly don't care. There are enough like-minded posts that I know I'm not alone in my opinion. Thanks for the offer anyway.

Disappointing.
I don't care that much about Garrett's new look, but the voice is important to me.
Getting that right is more important than convincing animations for the cut scenes.
