Nice video, Captain Ray-Ban. The few videos of yours that I've seen before this have been spoiled a bit by the fake and exaggerated swearing, and while I don't 100% agree with everything that you say on this one, I thought that this was actually pretty good. I would probably share this if anyone that I could share this with would actually care (or know) about Thief.

As much as I have an ounce of hope for EM even considering bringing back Stephen as anyone else here, I have to keep in touch with reality. And the reality is that Romano has a contract with EM and work is far too much into production to back out of that. I doubt EM would want to be dragged into any legal matters from dropping their contract with Romano. I also doubt they would be willing to give huge piles of cash to Romano to buy him out. The reality is the damage is already done; cannot be undone.
Of course not. :thumb:

But that does not mean we cannot still voice our eternal disapproval of it. I certainly will.

Having worked in VO on both sides of the mixing board, there is still PLENTY of time for SR to come in and record his lines...and for EM to have him loop his vocals to the already rendered CGI.
The longer we take to start truly pushing the petition and getting the numbers up is where we get into trouble though. I'm impressed that the petition has been averaging over 100 signatures a day with no promotion. So, lets get started and really promote this sucker and reach all the Thief fans out there who might not come here. I did some minor stuff last night and there has already been a jump since yesterday.

I, as well, have worked VO on both sides of the mixing board (...and much more...)...There is indeed plenty of time for this to happen...Also, additional contracts can be signed and mutually agreed upon that would not eliminate Romano...because he could still retain mocap duties, and fulfill other supported character voices, as well.

Right after xRazorFistx published his video, we talked, and he agreed to add a link to this thread...He has 12,000+ subscribers, so that should help...Of course, this was in addition to the link to the petition on his Youtube channel.

Why would they need to drop his contract? He can still finish the work he was signed on to do. Unless there's something in his contract promising him that his voice-work would appear in the final product.
Frankly, my wish for Stephen Russell back is a conditional one. My wish is for
Garrett to be back; both voice and everything else. Simply dubbing Stephen over their Garrett and doing nothing else may really look unfitting because they have, after all, changed a lot; and doing more than just that would be way too much work.
I honestly don't think this will get us Stephen Russell as Garrett, but I would like them to feel the burn for their mistake--IF it is a mistake. They seem very confident, or stubborn, and think they can do a better Garrett than the Garrett we know. I wish them all the best with that, but what I've seen so far doesn't promise any such thing, it looks like a hackneyed, bastardised Garrett.
Truly, if it were theoretically possible for me to love this new Garrett with his new voice more than the original Garrett--to consider it a superior design in every way--then just by definition we'd all want that. But that's theory. More likely, though, they're just being arrogant by not imitating Looking Glass's legacy.

Yeah, TIME isn't the issue at all, here.

Depends what you mean by "fully support". The truth is (and I have already explained previously),
I genuinely haven't seen anything I don't like yet. Of course, just as yourself, I haven't seen everything yet... so if you're asking me to hate on something, there may be hope for you.
If you stick with logic and fact when it comes to viewing my posts, it will be easy for you to spot imagination running away with you. :)
If you were at a car dealership looking at a car, and someone walks over to you saying "I think you should buy this car. I'm a car dealer at another lot, but I personally think you should buy this car. There isn't one reason
not to!" Is it illogical to question his motives? People may be wrong in what they perceive of you, but it is far from illogical to take the stance they do.

Uh oh. You used a...a...a metaphor. Oooo, they hate it when you do that. :erm:

The car dealer is trying to sell you something. I'm not, so it is illogical to take that stance.

On the surface of it, the car dealer isn't either. He works at a
different lot! At the dealership you stand in, he repeatedly reminds you that he is just an Average Jane, like you! He just really loves cars, and sees no reason to question the one you are looking at.
You claim it would be illogical to 'jump' to the conclusion that the car dealer may have other motivations. What drives me nuts is that you repeatedly act surprised that people question you. You can say they are wrong, and they might very well be wrong, but I refuse to believe you lack the intelligence to at least understand why they would wonder. As I said, they could be 100% wrong, but don't sit there and act like they are out of their minds. At the end of the day, EM wants to sell us a product, so yes, anything affiliated with them will be scrutinized.
