As far as I understand copyright, if he records the 'voice of Garrett' outside of personal use those voice recordings become property of Eidos, so it's not legally possible to have a 'Garrett voice pack' unless the publisher sanctions it. I could be mistaken.

That's the impression I get. I remember an in interview with the lead level designer, he was saying they want to aim for the stars, and be something as great as the originals were when they came out. They don't seem content to stand on the shoulders of giants, they want to be giants themselves.

If they're this sure of themselves, then even a million signatures on this petition would and should not sway them at all. And if it would sway them, then they're not certain enough.

On a separate note, one thing I see in this thread that I don't understand, is the contradiction of having strong animosity toward Eidos whilst also making a request of them (the premise of this thread, after all). You can't have it both ways. It's like saying "Please do this and make us happy, oh and screw you, you swine."

Woah, I know I've been away for over 24 hours... but what happened to this thread?! :wot:

I skimmed through and noted speculations of conspiracy, terrifying threats down dark alleys, tittle-tattle, irrational fear, hyperbole and, most disturbing of all, people sounding like they're a reincarnation of Karras preaching wretched adoration of their god. :eek:

Lots of petition signatures there. So what's the update? Are you guys still trying to get EM to change their mind about the VA with this petition; or is just for messages now? :)

Clearly from my question I understand they are two separate things. I was asking for an update regarding whether or not you were still petitioning for the return of SR. I ask this because of the response on the official forum regarding the petition.
