I want Sthepen Russell to be the voice of Garrett, who else? I don't think EM's explanation for not recruiting him makes any sense. Signed the petition a while ago, there is more than 1,300 supporters now! :D

I hope people will take time to send their personal "thank you" messages to Stephen too. :thumb:
EM will send it directly to Mr Russell. Thanks to Skaadi.
I thought about writing something at first but it felt too much like giving up and saying good bye and I do not want to do that yet. I also find it a bit rude and cynical of EM to organize this since it is they who decided they did not want Mr Russell to be part of Thief any more.

Also, on a completely unrelated subject, it's my birthday today. Thought it might be worth pointing out.
Can I have SR in Thief 4 as a present, Eidos?
Happy birthday! :)

Happy Birthday! That would be quite a present for most of us. :)

I've signed. It would be the best if Stephen back (even I'm sure Romano did great work and he is real master)

If you had said something like, "It would be a waste if he never saw those messages" that would have made more sense...
Seriously? We were both discussing SR's messages... as you can see in my first post it says ".... fan messages". You reassured me that SR would read the messages. My reply to your reassurance is that its cool otherwise it would have been a waste of time. From our conversation, I thought it was pretty obvious we were both talking about the fan messages. You misinterpret and tell me you and the whole community feel insulted. I hope you understand now and accept that I wasn't insulting anyone.

Completely understand about saying goodbye.
EM's intentions are not intended to be rude or cynical with regard to the thank you card. This was a fan idea and they wanted to reach out and offer to pass the messages directly to SR. It was considerate of them to offer.
As for their decision not to go ahead with SR - that remains a separate matter for discussion in another thread somewhere out there. :cheeky:

Yes, I misinterpreted you. I said I was sorry. The statement wasn't as clear to me as it was to you apparently. lol Of course I accept that you weren't insulting anyone.
Got the petition mentioned on Blues News.

I signed the petition, but refuse to sign the card. If the card were being sent by a bunch of grateful and well meaning fans that would be one thing. But I don't trust EM anymore and to me (just
my opinion, mind you) EM sending SR a 'thank you card' is akin to just giving him a gold watch and saying 'Don't let the door hit you in the ass on your way out'.
I found the FB page for the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater in Wellfleet, Mass and asked ever so nicely if SR is still affiliated with their theater group. They responded promptly that '
Absolutely! He's holding auditions for WHAT for Kids! this Saturday'. So I sent a message to Mr. Russell via the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater and asked that they pass it on, suggesting that SR visit TTLG (T4 forums in particular) so he can see just how dedicated and loyal his fans are. I also mentioned the petition. I know he'll get the message that way, with no possibility of rewrites, or rewording (not that I believe EM would do anything like that, of course).
Looks like R(andom)T(affer) found my post and added his own message to SR. ;)

I'd love to do a Southquarter interview with him, but I'm guessing in regards to all the recent stuff with EM, he'd be the consummate professional and just take the high ground on the whole situation. It'd be interesting to hear him talk about all past voice work though, from Thief through Skyrim.

I think you're right, Brethren; the man is a professional, without a doubt. I looked him up on IMDB and was amazed at his list of credits! I knew he'd done other voices for other games, but had no idea the list was so extensive. I'd LOVE to see a Southquarter interview with SR! That would make my month!

Agreed.
