We should allow this man to get on with the job
Just out of curiosity, exactly
how are we preventing him from doing his job? As far as I know, no one here at TTLG is sending Romano nasty e-mails, picketing his house or camping out in front of the EM studios with the intention of preventing Romano from entering said studio.

..... and give him our support.
Acceptance of a fact and showing support are two different things. The people who've signed this petition feel passionately about EM's refusal to use Stephen Russell. Until EM responds to that petition or until the game is released sans SR's voice, they'll continue to hold out hope. We're not talking about the President of the U.S. here, wherein even if you didn't vote for him you're expected to be a patriot and show support. No. No support is required; the man is doing the job he's being paid to do, regardless of whether or not we support him. As far as I can tell, no one has wished Mr. Romano ill; everyone realizes he's just doing his job. You give support to those things and people in which you have faith and in which you believe.

I wasn't talking about prevention. I meant in the way of offering our support and respect... and it was addressed to those who haven't been, obviously.
Don't know why you're going on about the petition again. It is unrelated to skaadi's thank you thread.

Uhhmmm ... correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this the "*** Stephen Russell - Petition & Poll ***" thread, started by Vae, in which we are posting right now? It would seem you're the one who has her threads mixed up.
And by stating that you feel we should '
allow him to do his job' yes, you're pretty much implying that so far we
haven't been allowing him to do his job. However, I'll accept your explanation and be willing to leave it at that.

Other than adding new lines to the game since upgrading Thief 4 to take advantage of next-gen capabilities, isn't Romano pretty much done, other than promotional stuff?

I made this related post in this thread:

It isn't about getting any threads mixed up.

That is how you have interpreted it; I can't change that. But, yes, lets breeze on by.

Not sure how video game production companies do things, but if it's anything like making a movie there'll probably be rewrites and revisions right down to the last minute before the release of the game.

I know it happens late in development, and like movies have pickup shots where scenes are added or redone to improve the story, voice-actors might be called back to add lines, redo lines, etc. The devs have mentioned adding lines for the AIs for the next-gen platform, so I'm just extrapolating the possibility that Romano might be called in for extra stuff.

Extra stuff ...and perhaps even back to voice a possible Thief 5 in the future.

You just have to rub it in, don't you...
