Personally speaking, I am glad the petition is not allowed on the official forum as I would find it disrespectful to Romano.
I'm not sure I follow that logic.
Eidos made the same mistake on Hitman: Absolution when recasting that voice actor, fans rebelled, long story short? They got David Bateson. And while the game had other problems that held it back, ultimately, David Bateson's distinctive performance was, once again, a very strong element of the game and a feather in its cap.
It was no disrespect to the new guy (I can't even recall his name, honestly) but his performance - like (
http://youtu.be/oGENrFor6i4?t=6m4s) what we've heard of Romano's - was fairly generic and lacked the original voice actor's distinctive flair.
Quashing negative feedback like this is only going to make the chorus swell in number and in volume. The petition is up over 1k signatures in three days with essentially no advertising of any kind, and with every attempt to link it on the game's forum immediately deleted. I think that says something.

Yeah I figured they'd do that. :erg:

Remember also, that not long after that petition, Origin fell on its own sword. Regardless, any true Ultima fanatic knows that IX *did* put the final stamp on the matter at hand.
Origin's problems had been mounting some time before that. Ultima IX was just the (pun intended) ultima-te nail in the coffin. Blaming it on a fan petition that back then achieved little is a bit too much.

Oh, so now Romano is more important than Stephen Russell?!
According to
you, not I. So try not to alarm yourself.
As we already know, EM have chosen their voice actor, Romano.

Quashing negative feedback ....
Eidos Montreal is a different studio.
Also, skaadi's thank you message is not quashing negative feedback... please read previous posts.

1000 signatures is nothing.
This will make no difference at all. Shame.
thiefessa on 7/4/2013 at 11:39
It is a shame, yes. Its a good amount of signatures but, as you so rightly point out, it won't make any difference.
EM have chosen their voice actor - Romano. He's got some BIG shoes to step into... but into them he steps.
We should allow this man to get on with the job and give him our support. :thumb:

I've joined the petition but can't vote in this poll and don't know why?

Minds can be changed. Until the game is on shelves, there is plenty of time to fix this. I intend to keep working on getting them to change that decision. The petition is only the beginning.

I agree, minds can indeed be changed.

You may not have enough posts at TTLG as a member. I don't know what the minimum limit is for members to vote in polls, here. It might be 100. If you can't get your vote in on the poll, and you aren't worried about keeping it a secret, post your voting choice down here.
