It never did, Esme. However, as much as I would have loved to have EM bring Mr. Russell back to reprise his role as Garrett, from everything I'm reading, seeing, & hearing about T4, I'm rather glad at this point SR won't be involved in what's looking to be a trainwreck of a game. Even Stephen Russell isn't going to be able to save T4 now.

Back in April, I was operating under the pretense that EM was actually making a Thief game, SR's absence was a hard blow. With the news of contextual movement, I am now glad that SR isn't involved in this train wreck. The silver lining in all of this is that it looks like we'll get a filled petition, solidifying the idea that Stephen Russell IS Garrett.

I agree. Completely. We'd never know it, but Ive entertained thoughts that SR walked away because he didn't like what they were doing. I know that's almost certainly not the case, but it makes for a nice thought, and would be a rather interesting twist.

He's more likely to have limped away after trying to record a sardonic quip while performing an interesting twist after jumping from a rope and just failing to grab onto a ledge.

The fact they aren't using Stephen is a major error.
There is no good reason not to except the one that is becoming more and more obvious - they want to distance themselves from the original game as much as possible.
that's why there's no Eric Ambrosius music.... or burricks... or Benny...
They think they are making a better game probably but they don't understand what made the original so unique.
Perhaps this reflects the times... real Art is dying because the people in charge of producing and selling it don't understand it properly but they THINK they do.
I bet the Montreal team think hiding behind a door for 3 minutes is ''boreeeng for owerrr playerrrs - eh? ''' - and that is the problem.
The original game was so unique because it MADE YOU WAIT until the right moment to do things....
oh sorry I've realised I've gone off on a rant on this petition.
Sorry I'm so upset about how badly they have messed up the game after waiting so long.
Props to Stephen for his kind words to us all.
