A few points need addressing.
1) Opinions aside, Adam West is much more a "star" than Stephen Russell. His fee would be 3 times that of Russell. West's body of work is immense. Russell's is but a single page of voice credits.
2) There is nothing whatosever preventing the ex workers of Looking Glass Studios getting back together and creating a "Thief-Like" game and hiring Stephen Russell to do the voice. There is no legal basis for Square Enix to stop that. As long as they don't call the game "Thief" they are fine. If you think otherwise, then by your logic, no space opera movies could ever be made because George Lucas owns the space opera genre. No heroic fantasy novels with dwarves and dragons could ever be written because the Tolkein family owns those rights.
3) This Russell petition doesn't even pass the giggle test. A total waste of time. If you were to focus your energy in a direction that might actually result in something that is workable, you'd kickstart a campaign to get LGS members together, along with Russell, to make a stealth game ala TDP and TMA. This petition is nothing but a waste of bandwith, an insult to Romano Orzari, an insult to all the hard work done by EM, and an insult to all True Thief fans.

I promised myself not to waste too much time looking for information about NuThief and spend more time into modding, writting stuff on PCGamingWiki and actually playing games. I did however watch some gameplays from NuThief and not a single time, I got the feeling they got the character right. Anyone can point me to a video, which shows something they did right or... have they really went for looks and NuGarrett indeed lacks personality as well as sense of humor?
As for Russian dubbing. Idk... Russians seem to like it more or less. Knowing few Russian words (I was learning Russian for a year)... nope, can't say I like the Russian voice actor either. But I don't have to, it's not like I'm going to play Russian version.... at worst, it's going to be English version with Polish subtitles/captions (that is - if, I even buy it).
