While utterly tired of yet another hundredth Hitler rant joke vid, this one did amuse me, but speaking directly to Cavalorn being so unaware of his surroundings is my one point.
I've been baffled by the news, what there was of it, coming from EM since firggin' 2009. The stupid reasoning to reject S.R. was one more WTF?? moment--a big one, but not entirely outside this studio's hack jobbing of things. Paid FM authors who don't much like Thief, but are glad they weren't caught making another Barbie-themed game. I don't screech at my laptop, but I can use my fingers to type words in text boxes that punch readers in the lobes with no effort or even intent. All those years reading and writing stories and songs make it really easy to imagine impassioned and texture-y and evocative words without even trying. The screeching is in the readers' mind and it's their own projection. But we all do that. Only some of us are willing to say hey, it's not what you think, relax, calm the hell down, all-cappin' freak. We're having fun, it's unprofessional crude journalism as often-satirical performance art, this is our stage, 'cause the civil emails were already sent to no response, and we're having fun, and you keep coming in in the middle of a scene and think we arrived only just ahead of you, and you missed the whole setup so your frame of reference is entirely incorrect, and...
...and now back to our irregularly scheduled pogrom-lite, where members who (*sniffle*) don't...don't like me, continue to encourage me, 'cause in truth, something about all this is fascinating as hell, better than Thief could ever be.

I have no idea what you are talking about.
No one ever does.

At least we've finally reached the "Puppetmaster" defense. I was wondering how long it was going to take to get there.

I, too, wish my mirror was auto filtered through rose tinted glasses.

Not to mention, rereading, rewatching, doing several searches, looking at other people's comments, to make sure I'm hearing/seeing what I think I'm seeing, before I declare my judgment.
No man you are right, based upon this gameplay footage, Thief is pretty much dead now. Which is surprising considering that Thiefs contemporary franchises are being revived one by one with strict adherence to what the original fans demand. And it is working out as well as it did the first time around, which is excellently. So, why is the new team not following suit. Instead they have basically outright abandoned everything that made Thief deep and meaningful, which translated into years of continued playing. Deadly Shadow proved to have added little/nothing to the longevity of the Thief brand. It has been Thief: The Dark Project, Thief II: The Metal Age, T2X, and Dark Mod that have carried on in the vein of elite Thief gameplay. Do they really think they are better than Looking Glass Studios!?!

They've said it's Thief, but that we shouldn't expect it to be the same, same, same, same game--as if we wanted a clone, an expansion, an outdated repeat. Unbelievable. And it took them until Day 2 of E3 this year to even let us know it had fundamentals we've been asking about for years with nothing but silence, deflection, BS PR, or attempted distraction.
But now, we still have The Cause, and it's not yet dead, just revised in part with new knowledge vs. conjecture and pressure-venting, and a couple items on the objectives screen checked off, a couple canceled altogether, and a Bonus objective.

Could someone decipher the true aim of jtr7 for me please? I have to apologize for being unaware of his intentions and not understanding why the hell does he care about a game which he will never play.

Thank you, now I understand.
To be honest I did not know that being a True Fan means not playing any FMs, not caring about TDM, hating Thief: Deadly Shadows and not giving a chance for the newest entry into the series. Not to mention that I doubt he played Thief since T2 was released. Now everything is clear. Have to say I feel ashamed for loving and caring about everything related to Thief.
