I guess all these new bitching and WOE IS ME posts means the intelligent discussion of pros and cons love-in is over.
Though I should give credit where credit is due. It did last roughly 12 hours before devolving back into the usual self aware pity fest.
If we'd have brioche to eat, we wouldn't complain about bread.
You know that situation when you see a situation, and you know it is your situation but you don't want it to be your situation?
That gameplay video spells things out for you perfectly, what analysis do you need? Personally it deprived me of the last strands of hope so I don't count on it being saved at this point.
There's no question about it anymore, not that I can think of at least, and fans will be fans.
They don't bitch for the sake of bitching, they bitch because they care too much, I for one understand the frustration. Maybe just because I am frustrated myself lol. But you get the point.

Star Citizen has star power.

You mean Chris Roberts? Well, I think Doug Church or Paul Neurath could do the same, if, of course, they would want to do it.

They are not nearly as well known outside of the industry. Nor is Thief as popular as Wing Commander was.

You're not serious, are you :)? Maybe those two ex-Thief developers are not as well-known as Chris Roberts, but, I think, Thief, as a brand, is at least as much popular as Wing Commander.

Were you around at that time at all? It was a huge mainstream success, not a cult hit like Thief.

And that's why nobody of the publishers didn't want to support the new game of Chris Roberts?

He got venture capitalists on board, though.
Publishers don't care about if a game was successful in the past. They just assume nobody wants to play space sims any more... or horror games or adventure games or stealth games... "Them kids want those action and mobile games."
I mean, come on -- they rejected the Wasteland 2 project that had some of the original Fallout people on board. That alone should show just how short-sighted publishers have become. They only care about games that could make hundreds of millions of dollars in a very short time.
