Yeah. I never thought I would say it, but I'm actually glad Stephen Russell isn't involved in this.

It wouldn't surprise me if they would actually bring back Stephen Russell in an attempt to secure more sales after hearing that the petition was cancelled over the fact that the game is so bad.(if it is to be cancelled I mean)
The game looks so bad.
I really want to see an interview with one of those developers or whoever the heck is responsible for this mess, where they are asked:
"So what exactly is 'true to the DNA of the original games' except the name?"
Frankly, I think they should change the name as well while they're changing everything else.

Teef - yes. Thief - no.
Could very well start this as a new meme; this game looks so bad, has no Stephen Russell, has so little in common with the original series, and most likely has tons of other shortcomings we'll see more of when the game comes out, that it should be separated from the Thief series entirely.
And rightfully so, they made this a "reboot" remember?
I'll call it Teef from now on, Thi4f has yet to be planned. But even now, I can assure every skeptic that:
Thi4f > Teef x ∞

The problem, is that we're in a no win scenario...If we get SR back, the contrast of quality between voice and character will present an indignity...On the other hand, if Romano is kept, we are left with an annoying substandard rendition, that will be anti-immersive.

I'm not bothered at all that it looks to be nothing like LGS's Thief games. Why would I care
when I already have both of LGS's Thief games that I can play over and over and over until I'm sick of them.
What annoys me is that it looks an unoriginal shitty game comprised from a hodge-podge of elements from other shitty and unoriginal games.

That's exactly right...I see nothing original of any consequence with NuThief...It is indeed an unremarkable derivative work, with only a corrupt semblance of Thief-like gameplay and World.

I would say there is still room for this type of discussion.
REGARDING THE PETITION: I would recommend that we still fight for it on principal, as it represents community righteousness and resolve...serving to bring awareness to EM's misguided efforts.
